Princeton’s Emma Talley missed the cut at the LPGA Tour’s Evian Championship in France Friday. Talley had 148 for two rounds after firing her second consecutive 74 that put her at six over, missing the cut by three strokes.
On the PGA Tour: Englishman Matthew Fitzpatrick shot a 6-under 64 on Friday in the FedEx St. Jude Invitational to take a two-stroke lead into the weekend at the World Golf Championships event. The 24-year-old stands at nine under 131.
Louisville area native Justin Thomas is at three under and tied for 18th, Nashville’s Brandt Snedeker is two over and tied for 47th and Kentuckian JB Holmes is tied for 59th at seven over par.
Paducah’s Russ Cochran at 12 over 152 missed the cut at the Senior Open Championship at Royal Lytham and St. Annes. American Wes Short Junior begins the third round with the lead at six under, one stroke better than fellow countryman Scott Dunlap.
