MLB Roundup: Reds & Braves lose, Cardinals & Cubs win Wednesday

Josh VanMeter went 3-for-4 with a home run and two RBIs for Cincinnati, but it was not enough as the Milwaukee Brewers won 5-4 to avoid a three game sweep yesterday. The Reds are off today before hosting the Colorado Rockies beginning tomorrow night.

Elsewhere in the National League: Paul DeJong went 4-for-4 with three home runs as the St. Louis Cardinals crushed the Pittsburgh Pirates 14-8. The series wraps up in Pittsburgh today.

Javy Baez, Kris Bryant and Albert Almora, Jr. all homered for the Chicago Cubs in a 4-1 victory over the San Francisco Giants. The Cubs are off today before visiting the Milwaukee Brewers tomorrow night.

Interleague: The Atlanta Braves were held to five singles in a 2-0 loss to the Kansas City Royals at SunTrust Park. Atlanta is off today before beginning a series tomorrow night at Philadelphia.
