Man arrested for synthetic drug trafficking

A routine traffic stop Tuesday evening led to the arrest of the driver on drug trafficking charges.

Hopkinsville police stopped 33-year old Jacoby Johnson of Hopkinsville for disregarding a stop sign at Seventh and Campbell Street about 7:20 p.m. and a computer check showed his license to be suspended, according to the arrest citation.

A search of the vehicle allegedly revealed a large amount of synthetic marijuana and real marijuana in a plastic bottle.

Johnson was arrested and charged with trafficking in synthetic drugs, possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia and operating with a suspended license.
