HPD arrests Florida man for burglary Sunday morning

A Florida man was arrested by Hopkinsville police early Sunday morning after he allegedly entered a woman’s apartment and made sexual advances toward her.

The victim was smoking a cigarette outside her apartment on North Elm Street just before 3:30 a.m. and returned inside to find 30-year old Gabriel Ladson of Florida standing in her home. The victim is legally deaf and could not hear Ladson enter the apartment behind her, according to the report.

The victim said Ladson began making sexual advances toward her and tried to hug and kiss her, but she was able to shove him to the floor as he kept lunging toward her.

Police arrived to find the on-site security officer with Ladson leaning against a vehicle with his hands on the hood.

Ladson was arrested and charged with second-degree burglary.

The arrest citation for Ladson says he was extremely intoxicated by alcohol at the time of the alleged incidents.
