Hoppers get 10 inning win at Henderson, clinch OVL West title

The Hoptown Hoppers picked up a 7-5, 10 inning win over the Henderson Flash last night in Henderson. The victory also gave the Hoppers the Ohio Valley League West Division title for the third straight year and top seed in the West for the OVL playoffs that begin next week. The Flash saw a seven game win streak come to an end.

The Hoppers broke a 4-4 tie scoring three times in the top of the 10th to get their second extra inning win of the season. Chandler Kendall had two of the Hoppers seven hits, hitting two home runs, including one in the 10th and driving in three runs. Hunter Evans and Ben Huber also went deep for the Hoppers, with Huber hitting his homer also in the 10th inning.

Brennan Crooms in relief of starter Zack Losey got the pitching win. The Hoppers begin a three game home stand hosting Owensboro on Fan Appreciation Night this evening at 7:05 at Tiger Field, with pregame at 6:45 on News Radio 95.3 FM/1230 AM WHOP and whopam.com.
