There will be a farewell reception Tuesday afternoon for outgoing Hopkinsville Fire Department Chief Freddie Montgomery.
Montgomery announced last month that he’s retiring from the city August 1 and Clarksville City Council confirmed him as that city’s next chief two days later.
Anyone wanting to wish Chief Montgomery well as he leaves for his new role can do so from 5 until 6 p.m. Tuesday at the municipal center prior to the Hopkinsville City Council meeting.
Chief Montgomery has led the Hopkinsville Fire Department since February of 2014.
