The Kentucky High School Athletic Association’s Board of Control met Thursday and approved a measure to change the structure of the KHSAA State Golf Tournaments.
The new measure calls for teams being allowed to enter four or five players at the Regional tournament, with the top four scores going to the state tournament if the team wins. The regional runner up will no longer go to the state tournament.
Also, for the next two years, the top seven individual finishers not on the qualifying team will also play in the state tournament. The measure calls for all 12 regional winners to play both days of the state tournament with the top 42 individuals and ties playing the second day.
