Princeton’s Emma Talley had a one under 70 and is tied for 40th heading into today’s second round of the LPGA Tour’s Marathon Championship in Sylvania, OH. Talley is six shots behind co-leaders Alena Sharp and Youngin Chun.
At the PGA Tour’s John Deere Classic, Roberto Diaz shot a 9-under 62 to take the first-round lead. Americans Adam Long and Russell Henley were two strokes back. Martin Laird was another stroke back at 65. Lexington native Josh Teater is tied for 78th at one under par.
Weather halted play at the PGA Tour Champions Senior Players Championship in Akron, OH Thursday. Steve Stricker had a hole in one and leads through 17 holes at five under. Franklin’s Kenny Perry was tied for 12th at even par through 15 holes and Paducah’s Russ Cochran was four over through 11 holes. Completion of the first round will take place today followed by the second round.
