American League wins the MLB All Star Game in Cleveland

The American League is celebrating its seventh straight win over the National League in the MLB All-Star Game. Joey Gallo’s solo home run in the seventh inning held up as the AL edged the NL 4-3 in the 90th Midsummer Classic in Cleveland. The American League has won 14 of the last 17 meetings.

New York Yankees hurler Masahiro Tanaka picked up the win and teammate Aroldis Chapman notched the save. Cleveland Indians pitcher Shane Bieber struck out the side in the fifth inning and was named the game’s MVP.

Clayton Kershaw of the Los Angeles Dodgers took the pitching loss.
