A vehicle pursuit ended with a crash and arrest Wednesday afternoon in Hopkinsville.
Captain Greg Koehler of the Hopkinsville Police Department says an officer attempted to make a traffic stop on 26-year old Brandon Demar Smith, but he continued driving. Smith was traveling on the Bypass when he collided with another automobile at the intersection with Bradshaw Road.
Only minor injuries were reported in the crash and Smith emerged from his vehicle holding a gun and ran away on foot.
Officers soon caught up to him and took him into custody.
Smith is lodged in the Christian County Jail charged with fleeing or evading police, wanton endangerment, possession of a handgun by a convicted felon, tampering with evidence, possession of a controlled substance and failure to wear a seat belt.
