A Russellville man is facing numerous charges after a vehicle pursuit in Logan County Tuesday where he reportedly had two small children in the vehicle.
According to a news release from the Logan County Sheriff’s Department, deputies attempted to initiate a traffic stop on a vehicle matching the description of one operated by 39-year old Daniel Doss of Russellville, who had multiple felony warrants out for his arrest. Doss reportedly accelerated and fled from the traffic stop, starting a pursuit that went into Tennessee.
Deputies deployed a tire deflation device that was successful, but Doss continued to drive the vehicle even though the front two tires were flat. The pursuit came to an end when the vehicle crashed through a metal cattle gate and came to a stop due to severe damage. Doss allegedly abandoned the vehicle and fled on foot briefly before being taken into custody.
A female passenger and two six-year old children were discovered in the wrecked vehicle. A search of Doss’ person allegedly revealed methamphetamine and he stated that he had thrown numerous items out of the windows during the pursuit.
He was arrested and will face multiple felony charges. Neither children nor the female passenger were injured, and she was not charged with any crime.
