An investigation to a person acting erratically on West Seventh Street Monday afternoon led to the arrest of a man on methamphetamine charges.
Officers received a call of a person jumping out in front of vehicles near Westwood Senior Homes at about 3:10 p.m. and made contact with 23-year old Kenneth Longstreath IV near Cayce’s Pharmacy.
He matched the description of the man given by witnesses and an arrest citation says he was talking to people who were not there, he was sweating profusely and appeared to be under the influence of a substance.
Police say he began shouting profanities and would not comply with orders from officers. A search of his person after being placed under arrest allegedly revealed a baggie of meth in his pocket.
Hopkinsville police charged Longstreath with possession of meth, public intoxication, resisting arrest and disorderly conduct.
