Fire destroyed an East Seventh Street home Monday afternoon.
Hopkinsville Fire Department Deputy Chief Steve Futrell says flames were coming from 1110 East Seventh when the first crews arrived.
He says they were able to confirm no one was inside and no one was injured.
Futrell says firefighters took extra precautions to protect themselves from heat exhaustion as they fought the blaze in temperatures near 90 degrees with high humidity.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
