15-year old injured in Clarksville drive-by shooting

The Clarksville Police Department is investigating a drive-by shooting that injured a teenager on Oak Lane late Sunday night.

According to a news release, officers responded to the area of Oak Lane for reports of a shooting that occurred around 11:20 p.m. and found a 15-year old male juvenile victim had been shot in the back. Investigation determined that the victim had been standing outside on the side of the road when a vehicle drove by and shots were fired from it as it passed by.

The teenager was struck by the gunfire. He was flown by helicopter to a Nashville hospital where he is listed in stable condition with possible long-term injuries that will require surgery.

Police do not believe the incident was a random act of violence. Anyone with information is asked to call Clarksville Crime Stoppers at 931-645-TIPS.
