MLB: Reds, Braves, Cubs & Cardinals all win on Thursday

Luis Castillo did not give up a hit until one-out in the seventh in the Cincinnati Reds 1-0 victory over the Milwaukee Brewers. Castillo struck out nine in seven-and-two-thirds innings. Yasiel Puig singled home Jesse Winkler in the first for the only run. The Reds have won three straight with back-to-back shutouts.

The Reds are off today before hosting Cleveland in the first of a two game Interleague series tomorrow afternoon, with pregame at 2:40 on News Radio 95.3 FM/1230 AM WHOP.

Elsewhere in the National League: Dansby Swanson homered twice as the Atlanta Braves crushed the Philadelphia Phillies 12-6. Atlanta welcomes the Miami Marlins to Sun Trust Park tonight.

Kris Bryant and Albert Almora Junior homered early as the Chicago Cubs pounded the Pittsburgh Pirates 11-3 in the series finale in Pittsburgh. The Cubs are off today before hosting the Chicago White Sox tomorrow night.

Tommy Edman singled home two runs in the seventh as the St. Louis Cardinals rallied for a 5-4 win over the Seattle Mariners. The Redbirds open a weekend series tonight in San Francisco.
