A Hopkinsville woman is facing multiple charges, including assault of a police officer, after officers served her with a warrant Thursday.
According to the Hopkinsville police report, officers attempted to serve 22-year old Courtney Lane of Hopkinsville with a warrant for contempt of court when she reportedly began acting frantic and not being cooperative with questions. While officers detained her, she allegedly tried to aggressively pull away and managed to run away before quickly being caught by officers.
While she was being placed in the back of a patrol car, she allegedly began kicking the arresting officer in the legs and groin. She also allegedly kicked a second officer in the knee repeatedly. A search of her person reportedly revealed a pipe containing marijuana residence in her pocket.
Lane was arrested and charged with two counts of third-degree assault of a police officer, resisting arrest, second-degree fleeing or evading police and possession of drug paraphernalia.
