Truck driver injured in Western Ky. Parkway crash

A two vehicle wreck Independence Day morning on the Western Kentucky Parkway in Hopkins County injured a truck driver.

Kentucky State Police investigated and determined 59-year old Louis Gansert of Union City, Tennessee attempted to make an illegal u-turn near the 42 mile-marker and collided with an eastbound pickup pulling a trailer operated by 47-year old Timothy Shaw—also of Union City.

Gansert was taken by ambulance to Baptist Health Hospital in Madisonville for non-life-threatening injuries. Shaw and his passengers complained of possible injuries, but refused a trip to the hospital.
