Young girl hit by car at Clarksville bus stop

A small child was hit by a vehicle at a bus stop in Clarksville Tuesday afternoon after two cars collided on Providence Boulevard.

Clarksville police investigated and say a 53-year old male driver was making a right turn out of a private driveway near Peachers Mill Road and pulled into the path of a northbound car driven by an 18-year old male.

The cars collided, sending the turning vehicle into the sidewalk and it struck a 5-year old girl who was waiting at the bus stop. She was taken by ambulance to a Nashville hospital for a leg injury and was listed in stable condition.

The 18-year old was transported to Tennova Health Hospital and the 53-year old was cited for failure to yield the right of way.
