Nate Lashley has the first PGA Tour victory of his career after shooting a final round 70 to finish 25-under to win the Rocket Mortgage Classic at Detroit Golf Club Sunday. Doc Redman shot 67 in the final round to finish second at 19 under. Nashville’s Brandt Snedeker tied for fifth at 17 under, Campbellsville native JB Holmes tied for 21st at 13 under and Lexington native Josh Teater tied for 35th at 11 under.

Steve Stricker made his U.S. Senior Open debut one for the record book. Stricker birdied the opening hole Sunday and never was threatened on his way to a one-under 69 for a six-shot victory. He finished at 19-under 261 on the Warren Golf Course at Notre Dame, breaking by three shots the U.S. Senior Open record set two years ago by Franklin’s Kenny Perry at Salem Country Club.
