Fire that began in the kitchen displaced the resident of a West Seventh Street home Sunday afternoon.
Hopkinsville Fire Department Deputy Chief Steve Futrell says the lone resident was able to escape from the home prior to firefighters’ arrival.
He says there was enough smoke and fire damage that she will be at least temporarily displaced.
The home is located just west of the West Seventh Dollar General Store on the other side of the street.
