Princeton’s Emma Talley tees off just before 1 this afternoon in the opening round of the LPGA Tour’s Walmart NW Arkansas Championship in Rogers, ARK.
On the PGA Tour: Nate Lashley is all alone atop the leaderboard after the first round of the Rocket Mortgage Classic. He carded a nine-under 63 Thursday at Detroit Golf Club. Ryan Armour and Nick Watney are one shot back in second. Kentuckian JB Holmes is tied for 23rd at five under par, Lexington native Josh Teater is tied for 33rd at four under, Nashville’s Brandt Snedeker is tied for 75th at two under and former UK golfer Chip McDaniel is tied for 100th at one under par.
Franklin’s Kenny Perry is tied for 14th at three under par 67 after the opening round of the US Senior Open at Warren Golf Course Notre Dame. David Toms and Steve Stricker are tied for the lead at eight under 62, with Kirk Triplett and Jerry Kelly two shots back at six under.
