A Hopkinsville man was cited for harboring a vicious animal Wednesday after his dogs injured a woman and her dog.
Four pit bull dogs belonging to 56-year old William Brown of Hopkinsville escaped an enclosure behind his home and attacked the victim and her dog on West 13th Street just before noon, according to the citation.
The attacking dogs were able to force their way into the woman’s home and dragged her small dog outside, causing cuts and bruises to the top of its head and under its ear.
The woman had a laceration to her arm, but refused an ambulance trip to the hospital.
Brown agreed to surrender his dogs to the animal shelter.
