Multiple people injured in I-24 wrecks

Multiple people were injured in several wrecks that occurred on I-24 Monday morning in Christian County.

The first wreck occurred near exit 86 when a tractor-trailer swerved into the median and hit another passenger vehicle, according to Christian County Emergency Management Director Randy Graham, who says the rear trailer on the semi overturned onto the passenger vehicle. One person had to be extricated from the vehicle.

Three people were transported by ambulance to local hospitals for non-life threatening injuries, according to Hopkinsville Fire Department Captain Michael Pendleton.

A second, three-vehicle wreck occurred in the back-up of traffic from the wreck involving the semi, sending one person to Jennie Stuart Medical Center for treatment. A third wreck, this one with no injuries, occurred in the same area shortly after.
