Alleged Guthrie purse thief arrested, facing drug charges

Guthrie police have arrested a woman who allegedly stole another woman’s purse last week at Tiny Town Bingo and she’s facing additional drug-related charges.

Officer Eric Pinkett was called to the facility on US 41 on Tuesday of last week and gathered surveillance footage of the theft that was used to distribute images of a suspect to the public through WHOP News and other channels.

A suspect was identified as 47-year old Vicki Presley of Clarksville and police returned to the facility Saturday night when her sister was observed at Tiny Town Bingo. Chief Dean Blumel and Sgt. Kevin Saunders were able to speak with her and got Presley on the phone.

She was convinced to bring the purse and its contents back to Guthrie, but an arrest citation says $450 in cash was missing. Presley reportedly said she didn’t know what happened to the money and was placed under arrest.

Officers searched Presley’s purse and her car to look for the stolen cash and instead found a bottle of two types of oxycodone pills that had been prescribed to other members of her family.

Presley was arrested and charged with theft, first-degree possession of a controlled substance and prescription pills not in the proper container.

Note: A booking photo was not available on Todd County Jail website Sunday morning.
