Trees downed by severe storms, no major damage

A round of severe thunderstorms pushed across western Kentucky Wednesday afternoon, but no major damage was reported anywhere in the area.

A tree was blown onto a power line on South Jessup Avenue in Hopkinsville, according to Christian County Emergency Management Director Randy Graham, who said there were also scattered minor power outages in the county.

The National Weather Service received a report from law enforcement of trees downed in the Canton area of Trigg County and Todd County Emergency Management Director Daniel Smith had not received any reports of damage.

No one was injured in any of the storms.

Multiple severe thunderstorm warnings were issued in the southern Pennyrile between 4 and 6 p.m.
