A local man was recently recognized for 50 years of service as a licensed Funeral Director and Embalmer in Kentucky.
Alan Beard, Senior Partner in Hughart, Beard & Giles Funeral Home and Dogwood Funerals & Cremations was presented with a certificate at The Funeral Directors Association of Kentucky annual convention in Louisville.
Beard, who is still active in the operation of both firms, said “I don’t plan to retire. Since taking Frank Giles as my partner in 2015, he has assumed the role of Managing Partner. I have slowed down a little. I don’t work at night much anymore. I still do my best to be on most every funeral. I plan to continue to do that as long as my health is good and I am able to do so.”
