Several local golfers began play in the Kentucky Amateur tournament that began yesterday at the Country Club of Paducah. Hopkinsville’s Austin Knight opened with a one under 71 and is tied for sixth place. Tadd Switzer is tied for ninth at one over par 73, Eddyville’s Cullan Brown had a six over 78 with Hopkinsville’s Brian Landrum at 10 over 82.
Luke Fuller of Mt. Sterling, Robbie Bender of Louisville and Jacob Poore of Union share the lead at three under 69, with two others one shot back. The 54 hole event runs through tomorrow.
