Wood, Gennett beginning rehab work to rejoin Cincinnati Reds

Cincinnati Reds left-hander Alex Wood will face hitters today in a simulated game. If all goes well, the Reds could sent out Wood on a rehab assignment in the minor leagues. He has not pitched this season because of lower back spasms. Meanwhile, Scooter Gennett went 0-for-2 and walked in his first rehab game with the Class A Daytona Beach Tortugas. He played five innings at second base. Gennett has not played since tearing his right groin in spring training.
