A pursuit of a motorcycle late Saturday night ended when a deer ran into the suspect’s path.
Christian County Sheriff’s Deputy Micahel Oxford attempted to make a traffic stop on 19-year old Michael Graddy of Hopkinsville for going 51 mph in a 35 mph zone on Fort Campbell Boulevard near McDonalds and Graddy allegedly accelerated on his motorcycle in an attempt to get away.
The pursuit traveled several city streets and then out into the county, making its way onto Gracey-Herndon Road, where a deer ran into Graddy’s path between Lafayette Road and Cox Mill Road.
Graddy wiped out to avoid the animal and came to rest off the roadway.
He was taken to Jennie Stuart Medical Center for non-life-threatening injuries and was then booked in the Christian County Jail for first-degree wanton endangerment, fleeing or evading police, failure to transfer a vehicle, driving without insurance, speeding and several other violations.
