Big Read returns to Hopkinsville with ‘Our Town’

The Pennyroyal Arts Council will once again bring the Big Read to Hopkinsville and Christian County and the book for this year is ‘Our Town’ by Thornton Wilder.

According to a news release, the Pennyroyal Arts Council is a recipient of a grant of $15,000 to host the Big Read—they are one of 78 nonprofit organizations to receive an NEA Big Read grant to host a community reading program between October 1 and November 8.

For the sixth consecutive year, The Pennyroyal Arts Council will be partnering with Hopkinsville-Christian County Public Library, Museums of Historic Hopkinsville-Christian County, and many other local organizations and businesses to bring a variety of programming to our community.

Executive Director Margaret Prim says, “Our community partners are very excited about our selection this year and plan to put a spotlight on our town, Hopkinsville, in the journey. We work closely with our public, private and homeschool children on programming and books. Our community involvement has helped us to secure this grant.”
