Christian County applying for federal grant for KY 115 improvements, industrial connector

Christian Fiscal Court approved a resolution Tuesday morning to apply for a federal BUILD grant for improvements to KY 115 and for construction of a proposed industrial connector route.

The grant would be for $25 million, the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet would contribute $10 million and Christian Fiscal Court would add $1 million—if the application process is successful—and Kevin McClearn of American Engineers says the projects would meet several needs.

He says Christian County has what it needs to make a good case in its application that the work is needed.

The grant application will be submitted next month and the waiting will begin.

In other action, magistrates approved the final pay requests for the Alhambra renovation and public safety building construction projects.

Christian County Judge-Executive Steve Tribble says the $29.8 million budget passed on May 28 by fiscal court has been approved for form and content by the Department for Local Government and final reading will be on the agenda for the June 25 meeting.
