Rain was a factor in Hopkins County crash

Rain was a factor Saturday in a single-vehicle accident in Hopkins County that injured a passenger.

It happened about 1 p.m. near the 114 mile-marker of Interstate 69. The Hopkins County Sheriff’s Department says Robert Hambrick of Drakesboro had been northbound when his pickup hydroplaned, causing him to lose control and strike a concrete retaining wall on the overpass above West Center Street.

His passenger, Misty Hambrick of Drakesboro, was taken by ambulance to Baptist Health Hospital in Madisonville for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.
