Princeton’s Emma Talley had a one under par 70 in Friday’s opening round of the LPGA Tour’s Shoprite Classic in Galloway, NJ. Jeongeun Lee6, last week’s winner of the Women’s US Open shot an 8-under 63 to grab a share of the lead. American Lexi Thompson is among a group one shot back.
Nashville’s Brandt Snedeker tied the RBC Canadian Open record with a 10-under 60 as an early starter, and was one stroke behind co-leaders Matt Kuchar and Scott Brown after two rounds at Hamilton Golf and Country Club. Brown and Kuchar shot 7-under 63s in the afternoon and head into the weekend at 12 under.
Louisville area native Justin Thomas stands at five under while Lexington native Josh Teater is at four under. Campbellsville native JB Holmes missed the cut.
