Guthrie man arrested for fake money, brass knuckles

A traffic stop Friday night led to the arrest of a Guthrie man for allegedly having brass knuckles and fake money.

Guthrie Police Sgt. Kevin Saunders stopped 42-year old William Strange for an equipment violation on Park Street about 9 p.m. and a computer check showed his license to be suspended.

An arrest citation says an odor of marijuana was coming from the pickup and a search by Guthrie Chief Dean Blumel allegedly revealed brass knuckles in a console. The knuckles also contained a built-in spring-loaded blade, according to the report.

Strange was arrested for carrying a concealed deadly weapon and driving with a suspended license.

Police say a search of Strange’s wallet at the jail turned up two counterfeit $100 dollar bills.

He was additionally charged with criminal possession of a forged instrument.
