The Museums of Historic Hopkinsville-Christian County and the Pennyroyal Arts Council are teaming up to host a fundraiser to support both organizations—“1971: The Greatest Year In Music”.
Appearing on WHOP News, Museum Director Alissa Keller invited the public to attend the music show at 6:30 p.m. on Saturday at the Alhambra Theatre. She says there will be a band that will put on a performance showcasing many different musical artists from that time period.
She says people will be able to learn more about local history during that time as well at the event.
All money raised will be split between the museums and the Pennyroyal Arts Council, with Keller saying it will help pay for the renovations currently taking place at the museum on East Ninth Street.
Tickets are $50 per person and can be purchased by going online through the Museums of Historic Hopkinsville-Christian County Facebook page. Renovations are continuing apace at the facility and Keller says they’re eager to show people the work that has been done both to the building and the exhibits when they reopen.
