Boy flown to Vandy after fall from swing

A boy was flown to a Nashville hospital after falling out of a swing from a significant height in eastern Christian County Friday night.

The boy is approximately 10 years old and hit his head on the ground during the fall, according to emergency radio traffic, which indicated he lost consciousness but was later able to talk to EMTs and first responders soon after their arrival.

Air Evac transported the patient by helicopter to Vanderbilt Pediatric Hospital in Nashville.

The incident happened on Hayes Road, which runs between Pilot Rock Road and Butler Road.

Honey Grove volunteer firefighters and first responders assisted EMS at the scene.
