A toddler was hospitalized Thursday morning after being kicked by a horse near Fairview.
EMS, local volunteer firefighters and first responders were called to a location in the 7300 block of US 68 East just after 7:30 a.m. for a 17-month old who was in a barn with his father when he was struck by the horse, according to Captain Michael Pendleton.
The boy was knocked down and had a cut on his forehead, but did not lose consciousness.
Air Evac was initially contacted, but was canceled when EMS personnel decided to take him to Jennie Stuart Medical Center for non-life-threatening injuries.
