University of Tennessee starting linebacker Darrin Kirkland Junior is hanging up his cleats. The senior has decided to retire due to lingering knee injuries. Kirkland recorded 51 tackles and five tackles for loss for the Vols last season. Sophomore tight end James Brown is also retiring from football due to a shoulder issue. He never appeared in a game for the Vols.
