It took Christian County five innings to rout Crittenden County 13-1. The Colonels used a seven run third inning to propel them to victory. Elijah Owens, Austin Fields and Wyatt Stevenson each had two hits for Christian County, with Jase Polley hitting a home run. Freshman Elijah Underhill went the distance in getting the pitching win. He allowed the Rockets a run on five hits and struck out five. Christian County improved to 17-14 with the victory while Crittenden County finished 18-17.
Christian County will face Caldwell County in the first semifinal game at 5:30 this evening, with the Heritage Bank pregame show at 5:15 on News Radio 95.3 FM/1230 AM WHOP and whopam.com. Caldwell County advanced to the semifinals with a 4-1 win over host Union County.
Hopkinsville held off a late rally by Madisonville for a 4-3 victory Monday. The Tigers got two hits each from Layne Jorgensen, John Duvall and Aaron Crosby. Preston Chadouin got the pitching win, with Robert Justus collecting the save as the Tigers improved to 19-13 while Madisonville finished 20-15.
