College Baseball: Murray State loses, Peay wins at OVC, WKU loses at CUSA, UL loses, Vandy wins

Morehead State ended Murray State’s season with a walk off home run in the bottom of the ninth inning in a 2-1 victory at the OVC Baseball Tournament in Marion, IL last night. The Racers conclude the season 24-30 and their 16 wins in Ohio Valley Conference games are the most in school history.

Meanwhile, Austin Peay outlasted Eastern Kentucky 9-7 in a winner’s bracket game at the OVC Tournament Thursday. The Governors improved to 32-23 and will meet Jacksonville State, who swept the Governors last weekend, at 11 this morning at Rent One Ballpark.

Top seed Florida Atlantic defeated Western Kentucky 6-1 at the Conference USA tournament in Biloxi, MS. WKU is now 26-28-1 and faces UTSA at MGM Park at 6:30 this evening.

Seventh ranked Louisville was eliminated from the ACC Tournament following a 7-1 loss to Clemson Thursday. The Cardinals will learn if they will be in the NCAA Tournament on Monday.

Vanderbilt edged Mississippi State 1-0 at the Southeastern Conference tournament last night in Hoover, AL. The Commodores are now 47-10 and have won 20 of their last 21 games. Vanderbilt will meet the winner of the LSU-Mississippi State game in the semifinals tomorrow afternoon at 3:30 pm.
