Jordan Spieth shot a five-under 65 with eight birdies in the first round of the PGA Tour’s Charles Schwab Challenge at Colonial Country Club in Fort Worth. The three-time major winner is one stroke behind leader Tony Finau, who is at six under heading into today’s second round. Franklin’s Kenny Perry withdrew from the event while Lexington native Josh Teater is tied for 13th at two under par 68, with Nashville’s Brandt Snedeker tied for 95th at four over 74.
