Unemployment down from March to April in all nine Pennyrile counties

Unemployment fell from March to April in all nine Pennyrile counties.

Christian County’s jobless rate was 4.5 percent, down from 5.1 percent in March and the same as it was in April of 2018. That equated to 1,177 people who were looking for work, but who were unable to find it.

Todd County had the region’s lowest jobless rate at 3.6 percent, a half-point less than the 4.1 percent in March and down from 3.9 percent one year ago.

The April unemployment rate in Trigg County was 4.4 percent, down from 5.1 percent in March and less than the 4.7 percent recorded in April of 2018.

The state average was 3.9 percent and the national number was 3.3 percent.
