Hopkinsville Police Officer Phillip Meacham was among six officers killed in the line of duty last year whose names were added to the Kentucky Law Enforcement Memorial during a ceremony Thursday morning at the Department of Criminal Justice Training in Richmond.

The Hopkinsville Police Department Honor Guard presented the colors at the ceremony.

Lt. Governor Jenean Hampton was among the speakers, saying her appreciation of law enforcement has continued to grow over the last three and a half years she’s held that office.

Barren County Sheriff’s Deputy Rusty Anderson, Hickman Police Officer Rodney Smith; Pikeville Police Officer Scotty Hamilton; Jefferson County Sheriff’s Deputy Devin Meriwether; and Louisville Metro Police Detective Deidre Mengedoht were the other five officers whose names were added to the memorial.
