Oak Grove woman arrested on child abuse warrant

An Oak Grove woman was served with a warrant Wednesday for two counts of criminal child abuse.

It alleges that between December 26th and February 5th, 22-year old Ashli Cussins of Oak Grove failed to provide proper nutrition, medical care and immunizations to her 6-month old daughter, who had only gained six ounces since birth. It further says that her 18-month old child was found to be “hungry, underweight and unable to walk.”

The Oak Grove Police Department warrant says that since being out of Cussins’ care, both children have gained weight and the oldest child is now walking.

Hopkinsville police arrested Cussins at a Fort Campbell Boulevard location and she was lodged in the Christian County Jail.
