Murray State’s Ja Morant was named the Ohio Valley Conference Male Athlete of the Year today. The Dalzell, SC native is the 11th Murray State male athlete to receive the honor, with the preceding 10 also basketball players. It’s the second straight year and the third time in the last five years a Racer basketball player has been named as OVC Male Athlete of the Year. Morant’s run at Murray State lasted 65 games before he declared for the NBA Draft, which takes place June 20th. He is projected as a top five draft pick.
