MLB: Gray gets first win for Reds, Cubs win & Braves lose

Sonny Gray struck out nine in six innings to pick up his first win of the season as the Cincinnati Reds shut out the Milwaukee Brewers 3-0. Gray says he now needs to build on his first win:

Elsewhere in the National League: Javier Baez singled in the winning run in the bottom of the ninth inning as the Chicago Cubs dropped the Philadelphia Phillies 3-2 at Wrigley Field.

Down to his final strike, Joe Panik hit a two-run single in the bottom of the ninth as the San Francisco Giants walked off against the Atlanta Braves, winning 4-3. The series continues tonight at Oracle Park.

Interleague: The St. Louis Cardinals and Kansas City Royals play a doubleheader today at Busch Stadium after last night’s series opener was postponed due to severe weather. Game one is scheduled for 12:15 p.m. with Michael Wacha opposing KC’s Brad Keller. The Cards will send Adam Wainwright to the mound to face Homer Bailey in the nightcap.
