The Christian County Sheriff’s Department arrested a man walking on Greenville Road Tuesday morning for methamphetamine possession.
Deputies responded to the 3000 block of Greenville Road for a man staggering in the roadway and Sgt. James Dragoo made contact with 38-year old Gary Douthitt of Hopkinsville. An arrest citation says he was unsteady on his feet and appeared nervous.
Douthitt allegedly ran toward a wood line when a deputy wanted to check him for weapons, but was caught and taken into custody. Police say a baggie of methamphetamine and a pipe was found in his pocket.
Douthitt was arrested and charged with meth and drug paraphernalia possession, resisting arrest, fleeing or evading police and public intoxication.
