Multiple arrests after shots fired on Moores Drive

No one was injured in a shots fired incident Monday night on Moores Drive in Hopkinsville that led to multiple arrests.

Officers responded to the 400 block of Moores and were told the shots came from a white Honda car that left toward the Woodland Heights apartments on Greenville Road. Vehicles were damaged by the gunfire, but no one was injured.

Sgt. Chris Bond located the Honda on the Bypass and an arrest citation says it turned onto Madisonville Road. The driver briefly stopped, but then took off again before eventually coming to a stop near Old Madisonville Road.

A stolen handgun was located in the car, according to police.

Eighteen-year old Darrius Quarles of Hopkinsville and multiple juveniles were arrested.

Quarles was charged with six counts of wanton endangerment, tampering with evidence, receiving a stolen firearm, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon and unlawful transaction with a minor.

Police say six people were placed in danger of injury or death by the gunfire on Moores Drive.

Quarles was lodged in the Christian County Jail and the minors were taken to the juvenile detention facility in Paducah.
