Logan County lawyer running for circuit judge in Todd, Logan counties

An attorney from Logan County has announced his intention to seek the circuit judge seat in Todd and Logan counties being vacated at the end of July when Judge Tyler Gill retires.

The seat will be on the November general election ballot and Joe Hendricks’ name will be there, according to a statement released Monday by Hendricks.

He is a Logan County native, a graduate of Logan County High School, Berry College and the Georgia State University College of Law.

Hendricks served as an assistant district attorney for the Appalachian Circuit of Georgia and was elected as that Circuit’s chief prosecuting attorney in 2004. He has been lead counsel on over 50 jury trials, according to his statement.

He is currently a partner at Brooks and Hendricks, a general law practice in Russellville.

Hendricks says, “As someone who was born and raised to seven generations of farmers in Logan County and paid his way through school raising tobacco and cattle, I want to ensure that we have a circuit court that is efficient, fair, and accessible to the people of Logan and Todd Counties and that upholds our values.”
