The mother of a man charged in connection a Sunday murder in Clarksville has been arrested with accessory after the fact in a criminal homicide.
According to a news release, officers arrested 47-year old Susan Ficklin and charged her in conjunction with the Earl Slate Road murder of 35-year old Matthew Nelson. Her son, 24-year old Joseph Morris, is a suspect in the murder and has been charged with criminal homicide. Investigation determined that following the death of Nelson, Morris showed up at a friend’s home in a car driven by Ficklin.
She was reportedly aware of what her son had done and was taking him to Indiana because she wanted to get him out of Clarksville.
Ficklin and Morris were both located in Elizabethtown, Kentucky and taken into custody.
